Richard N. Seaman is the Chairman of Seaman Corporation and is a committed believer in the vitality of entrepreneurship, Richard’s career has been focused on the creative development of the business enterprise. His vast experience in a wide range of creative business initiatives across multi-functional disciplines serves as a valuable resource to many business and community involvements.

He had a successful career in growing his small family-owned business from $2 million in annual sales to greater than $200 million in the challenging industrial fabrics industry. Dick served as CEO of Seaman Corporation from 1976 to 2015 and increased its size by more than fifteen-fold.

He served as a Director of FirstMerit bank, an $11 billion leading regional institution in Northeast Ohio as well as on the Audit and Compensation Committees for more than ten years and was actively engaged as a Board Member during the 2008-09 financial crises.

He serves as a Trustee of the College of Wooster and of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, is a Trustee and Chairman of the Board of the Morgan Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to strengthening the free enterprise system by investing in organizations and institutions that foster the entrepreneurial spirit.

Judy has been married to Richard for over fifty years, playing a significant partnership role during their family business journey.  She prioritized the raising of their three children during this time period and continues to be actively engaged with their families and 8 grandchildren. 

While much of this is on a personal level, Judy also plays an important role in educating the future generations of family shareholders about the history of Seaman Corporation and the importance of family business shareholder stewardship.

Judy also supports many local social service organizations.  She serves as chairman of the annual “Salsa Sizzle” fundraising event for Central American Medical Outreach (CAMO), providing significant medical and social service support to the large community of Santa Rosa, Honduras.  Judy serves as a Trustee of the Seaman Family Foundation is also a member of the Women’s Advisory Board of the Wayne County Community Foundation.
