Christopher Moore

PRESIDENT

Chris has over 40 years’ experience within the hospitality industry. He previously headed up The Clink Charity based in the UK as Chief Executive Officer, leading and setting up the award-winning prisoner rehabilitation training restaurants, gardens and kitchens all located inside prisons. He took the concept from 1 site to 50 over eleven years raising over £10m from philanthropic giving. Through delivering training the charity was able to place returning citizens into employment and dramatically reduce reoffending rates by up to 66.4%. 

Before that role he worked for Fenwick Ltd the largest family-owned high end department store group in the UK as Head of Group Restaurant where he created and operated 37 restaurants across 12 UK sites and prior to that role he worked at Harrods Ltd as Restaurants General Manager and developed the in-store restaurants and food hall eateries from 12 to 21 units. Chris has also worked for the Hilton International Hotel Group in the UK and Holland and trained with the Holiday Inn Hotel Group in Saratoga Springs, in New York state after leaving college. 

Chris is a non-executive director of Westminster Abbey Enterprises Ltd and also a Trustee of Onwards and Upwards, a prison charity that repairs old and discarded bicycles in prisons, training the prisoners in bike maintenance. The bikes are then sold at a reduced prices to low-income families who would not normally be able to afford bikes. In 2018 he helped set up the Social Gastronomy Movement, which uses food as a tool to drive social change around the world, through farming, education and nutrition. It now operates in 5 continents, 60 countries and has over 200 linked community projects. Chris is a Freeman of the City of London and was awarded Freedom of the City of London in April 2021.

When he is not working, you will find him in his garden cooking in his wood oven or out on a long bike ride. Chris is married to Lucy and they have 2 adult sons and a poodle.
