Bill is the founder and chairman of the Brock Offices, a firm specializing in international trade, investment and human resources. He served in the cabinet of President Reagan as the U.S. Trade Representative and as U.S. Secretary of Labor. He previously chaired the Republican National Committee and served in the U.S. Senate for the state of Tennessee. Senator Brock has consistently pursued his life-long passion for education. In 1993, the National Academy of Human Resources awarded him its highest tribute for outstanding life achievement in advancing human development. Senator Brock is a senior counselor and member of the board of trustees of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where he chairs the International Policy Roundtable.
Sandy is the president of SMD, LLC, a consulting firm she has operated for more than 20 years. Sandy currently consults with and serves on the board of many non-profit foundations and for-profit businesses. Sandy spent the majority of her career in aerospace and commercial aviation, spending many of those years as president of her own international consulting firm. She was the first woman to be named an officer (board of directors) of an American flag carrier. She was twice named one of this country’s top 10 women in aviation, and was the first woman president of the Aero Club of Washington, founded by the Wright Brothers. Sandy is married to former United States Senator William E. Brock; they have a family of six children and 14 grandchildren.
